Clinical Case: Female 29 Years Old, Neck and Head Pain

Woman, 29 years old, professional

reason for consultation

Often (2-3 times a month) she feels strong pain at the base of the neck and then a very strong migraine is triggered.

clinical history

It has been getting worse over the last 5 years, especially after intense work periods

Inspection

  • visibly it is easy to recognize the lump that forms at the base of the neck
  • just below the neck the dorsals make another curvature that should not be there
  • on palpation, the muscles around the entire neck are very tight

diagnosis

I decide to work with One Minute Practice to solve postural problems and physical pain. I consider that with needles, in my hands, I would have slower and less integrated results.

The neck needs to be released starting with the highest area of the chest. Relatively around the first 5 ribs.

therapeutic principle

The One Minute Practice works by relaxing the muscular tensions of the postural muscles so that the body structure realigns naturally. When the body is aligned the muscles of the front of the body stop fighting with the back muscles. Without fighting the pain goes away very quickly.

At the same time the person is trained to integrate the practice into their daily life to avoid needing another session, if possible.

treatment

Two sessions.

In the first session we focused on understanding how breathing synchronizes as explained by the One Minute Practice and then how to relax the muscles around the ribs (from 1 to 5).

In the second session we applied the technique for back pain with more details around the neck and we learned the postural principles to prevent the pain from returning. This final part is very important to guarantee the client's independence.

results

Once all the muscles around the neck had relaxed there was no more pain.

The postural training for the neck has guaranteed that the person could continue maintenance on her own, with 5 minutes of One Minute Practice applied to the neck every day.

The person has not had a migraine again and when her neck stiffens in stressful situations, she says that 5 minutes before bed is all she needs.
