There exists something that encompasses everything and yet has no name; when we name it we call it the TAO and from there the ten thousand beings arise. This is how Taoism expresses the beginning of all that exists in the universe. It is this first conception of something that cannot be named, that in the work of understanding it, human beings need to give it a name and call it the TAO; there the first division arises. Consciousness alone "is" and everything that dwells in consciousness is a manifestation of that "primary consciousness" (Yin and Yang).
From this thought emerges what we today know as Acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
