Causes

• Emotional: anxiety, nervousness
• Lack of decisiveness that blocks Yang and ends up stagnating the Small Intestine (Gall Bladder, Wood element, is the mother of Small Intestine)
• Excess Heart-Fire that transmits to Small Intestine through the Interior-Exterior relationship between Heart and Small Intestine

Symptoms

• Mental restlessness
• Sensation of oppression and chest heat (due to Heart-Fire)
• Signs of heat and fire in the channel pathway: Mouth ulcers, sore throat, hearing loss
• Abdominal pain
• Thirst
• Scanty and dark urine, painful urination, even haematuria. (Small Intestine sends the turbid liquids it processes to Bladder)
• Tongue: Red, tip red and swollen, possible yellow coating (if there is dampness)
• Pulse: Rapid and full at the left cun position at least

Treatment

Drain heat in Small Intestine and Heart-Fire

• Drain HT-8, SI-5 (Ben points, Fire element)
• Drain HT-7, SI-10 (child points, drain the excess)
• Tonify SI-2, HT-3 (grandfather point, Water point). ST-39 (He-Sea point of SI).

• Review in diagnosis the state of Gall Bladder, perhaps the excess comes from there. In that case release and drain the stagnant energy.
