As the fertilized egg develops into embryo and fetus, it is nourished through the umbilical cord. Around this cord is where the Pre-Heaven Qi is distributed, by a meridian that remains in us at a superficial level in the abdomen. Drawn, it reminds one of the shape of a turtle, and reflects the person's body.
