• Heaviness in the limbs
• Abdominal distension and fullness
• Pathological ascent of Qi
• Dysuria
• Edema
• Tongue: white and sticky coating
• Pulse: deep and slow

• Edema during pregnancy
• Asthma, breathlessness
• Vomiting, nausea
• Hypertension
• Ascites

Contraindications

Add tonifying substances in case of severe Spleen deficiency (see Modifications)

Modifications

In case of severe Spleen deficiency add:

• Rhizoma Atractylodis macrocephalae - Bai Zhu
• Radix Astragali - Huang Qi
