- Who wakes up at night with a headache, their headache is dominated by Yin.
- Infrequent urination and full bladder with prostate hyperplasia, is a state dominated by Yin with scant function.
- Hip osteoarthritis with pain at rest and morning stiffness that improves during the day.
- Cough and asthma that worsen at night, with dampness or cold.
Cold
- Feeling of cold.
- The symptoms worsen with cold
- Paleness.
Passivity
- Hypoactivity
- Heaviness or introversion.
- Symptoms worsen with rest and improve with activity.
Dampness
- Dampness, Phlegm, oedema and mucosidity.
- Symptoms worsen in humid climates and improve in dry climates.
Night
- Symptoms start at night, worsen during it and improve during the day.
Descending
- Symptoms in the lower part of the body (pelvis, pubis, genitals, legs and feet).
Contraction
- Movements from outside to inside.
- Hunched appearance.
- External (climatic) factors that cause internal conditions.
- Cramps, contracted muscles in cold times.
Nutrition
- Nutrition of the tissues:
Thin and sensitive skin: Lung-Yin deficiency Thick and fatty skin: Excess Yin of Lung
Substance
- Thickness of hair and skin; everything that can be quantified: amount of food, mucosidity, stools, urine, body weight.
Mucosidity: Excess Yin of Lung. Little hair: Kidney-Yin deficiency.
