Asthma in crisis associated with moments of stress and nervousness. Liver-Qi stagnation opposing the Lungs. When this happens it is very possible that there is some underlying Lung-Qi deficiency. It may be a mixture of excess and deficiency.
Symptoms
- Red face, red eyes (if stagnation has reached fire)
- Bitter and dry mouth
- Discomfort in chest and hypochondrium
- Normal or red tongue, thin coating may be yellow (if Liver fire)
- Tense pulse, may be rapid
Treatment
Unblock Liver-Qi, calm asthma.
- Common points to calm asthma: BL-13, LU-1, CV-17, Ding Chuan, ST-40
- Additionally: LU-8, CV-22, LR-3 or LR-2, BL-18
