Common cold

Clinical history

One month ago, the patient caught a severe cold from which she has not yet recovered. She always feels cold with fear of Wind and spontaneous sweating. She has cough with little phlegm but no sore throat or fever.

She is always tired, with cold four limbs.

No thirst. Appetite, urination and stools are normal.

The patient has a weak physical constitution. She is prone to catching cold, always feels cold and dresses more than normal.

Pale tongue with moist coating. Fine and weak pulse.

Diagnosis

  • Interior syndrome
  • Deficiency of Wei Qi
  • Cold

Deficiency of Defensive Qi(Wei Qi) and deficiency of Qi of Lung

The descending and diffusing function does not work well (cough and phlegm).

Therapeutic principles

  • Strengthen the Lung
  • Tonify energy
