Pathway

Trayecto interno principal P

Internal pathway

The Lung channel originates in the Middle Burner and descends to the Large Intestine to establish a relationship between interior and exterior. From the Large Intestine it ascends to the Stomach, crosses the diaphragm and penetrates the Lung. It ascends through the trachea, reaches the throat, heads toward the axilla and emerges at point LU-1.

External pathway

P

It heads toward the anterior surface of the shoulder. It descends along the anterior radial border of the arm and forearm, passing through the center of the elbow crease: along the radial border of the biceps brachii tendon LU-5. It descends along the radial surface of the forearm, crosses the styloid process of the radius and reaches the wrist. It passes through the thenar eminence. It follows the radial border of the thumb and ends at the radial ungual angle of the thumb, at point LU-11.

  • From LU-7 a collateral branch emerges that communicates with point LI-1.
