Clinical Case: Female, 64 Years Old, Right Hypochondrium Pain

Female, 64 years old.

Reason for consultation

Pain in right hypochondrium. Pain in the right kidney area.

Clinical history

For 40 years, since the time of the divorce, she has right hypochondrium pain. For the past year it has worsened. It is a feeling of heaviness, like a tension from within. When it happens she normally drinks hot water and puts hot compresses on the right side and this produces diarrhea that sometimes makes her feel better.

The pain occurs almost every day. Mainly at night, it may be related to fatty food. She does not relate it to any particular emotion. Four years ago she had bile parasites from raw fish. (anisakis?)

From the right side the pain radiates backward and sometimes toward the groin. Many times it radiates toward the left hypochondrium.

If she takes something hot she feels better. She never feels cold. Sometimes she has headache in the occipital area. She does not think it is related to bile but it is related to atmospheric pressure (barometric pain).

She sometimes has gastritis. If she eats a little more than usual she gets diarrhea.

She has cataract in the right eye and can hardly see anything.

Tinnitus.

Pain in the joints, mainly in the right shoulder.

Sometimes she gets up at night and cannot sleep more.

She has chronic fatigue. She does not let sadness catch her, otherwise she gets very sick.

Polyps of the uterine cervix.

Duodenal ulcer 4 years ago. Operated on for a lump in the breast.

She has cysts in the liver of considerable size.

She has many erythrocytes. Sometimes she has arrhythmias.

She has never controlled her hypertension, she takes pills when atmospheric pressure changes.

She falls, has frequent falls.

Polyuria.

Right pulse weaker than left pulse. The pulse is felt at all three levels but stronger in the middle. It is a very tense pulse on both sides at the barrier. Imperceptible on both feet.

Red tongue, with a very fine coating, darker edges.
