The Hun translates as subconscious soul. It is the psychic aspect of the Liver
It could be paired with the Western conception of ethereal soul or spirit, imagination.
It is also known as vegetative soul.
It is the expression of noble sentiments.
- Audacity.

- Magnificence.
- Creativity.
- Inventiveness.
According to the Five Elements theory, the Hun is the "mother" of the Shen. So depending on how the Hun is, the Shen will be.
- A developed Hun gives a brilliant Shen that is reflected in the gaze.
- Reflexes and gestures are related to Liver and Kidneys (tendons and bones).
It is the point of union between the Mind and the Zi (willpower and mind).
According to the Six Levels, the Liver and Pericardium form the Jue Yin axis known as the hinge of the Yins.
They protect the deep level and transmit from the interior the messages to the exterior plane.
They are the "hinge" or the point of union between the mind and the will.
The "spirit" balances both poles (knowledge - will).
