There may be empty-heat
Symptoms
- Depression and discouragement.
- In case of empty-heat rather nervousness, irritability, anxiety
- Vertigo sensation
- Muscle cramps, spasms, may have tics
- Insomnia
- Tinnitus
- Dry mouth and throat
- Heat in the five palms
- Afternoon low-grade fever
- Night sweating
- Thirst with desire to drink in small sips
- Blurred vision, floaters, eye dryness
- Loss of night vision acuity
- Pain with burning sensation in the hypochondrium
- Scanty menstruation or amenorrhoea
- Pale, dull complexion with red cheeks
- Nails without luster
- Dry skin and hair
- Normal tongue without coating or with rootless coating
- Fine, rapid pulse if there is heat, may be tight
Causes
- Liver-Fire consumes Yin
- Kidney-Yin deficiency that does not nourish the Yin of Liver
- Febrile disease
- Drugs
- Inadequate diet
- Aging
