There may be empty-heat

Symptoms

  • Depression and discouragement.
  • In case of empty-heat rather nervousness, irritability, anxiety
  • Vertigo sensation
  • Muscle cramps, spasms, may have tics
  • Insomnia
  • Tinnitus
  • Dry mouth and throat
  • Heat in the five palms
  • Afternoon low-grade fever
  • Night sweating
  • Thirst with desire to drink in small sips
  • Blurred vision, floaters, eye dryness
  • Loss of night vision acuity
  • Pain with burning sensation in the hypochondrium
  • Scanty menstruation or amenorrhoea
  • Pale, dull complexion with red cheeks
  • Nails without luster
  • Dry skin and hair
  • Normal tongue without coating or with rootless coating
  • Fine, rapid pulse if there is heat, may be tight

Causes

  • Liver-Fire consumes Yin
  • Kidney-Yin deficiency that does not nourish the Yin of Liver
  • Febrile disease
  • Drugs
  • Inadequate diet
  • Aging
