• Indicates exhaustion of Qi-Xue, Yang deficiency, deficiency of Jing of the Kidney.
• In a pregnant woman it would indicate tendency to miscarriage, uterine haemorrhages.
• In a sick patient it is a poor prognosis. Needs moxibustion at Dan Tien (CV-4) to improve the reserve.
• It can indicate Yin deficiency, Xue deficiency. In that case it would be accompanied by symptoms of night sweating, interior heat, sensation of heat in the bones.
