The concha is the most central hollow or valley in the auricle. The extension of the helix creates a small crest that subdivides the concha into an upper and lower part. The concha corresponds to the internal organs.
Contains the Zero Point or center of the ear.

Upper concha
Also called cymba concha. The upper half of the concha, which is below the horizontal branch of the antihelix and above the root of the helix. Abdominal organs: Spleen, pancreas, kidney and bladder.

Also called cava concha. The lower part of the concha, where the ear canal opens. Corresponds to the thoracic organs: heart and lungs.

Concha wall
Vertical part that rises from the concha towards the surrounding crests (antihelix, antitragus). Corresponds to the thalamus, brain, sympathetic nerves.
