Headache Due to Liver Yang Rising

Headache or head pain due to Liver Yang rising is the typical migraine. A strong, sharp and throbbing pain with pressure sensation. There may be a condition of Liver- and Kidney-Yin deficiency.

Characteristics

  • Sharp, throbbing pain with pressure sensation. (migraine)
  • Affects only one side of the head. Shao Yang and Jue Yin.
  • Symptoms of Liver-Yang rising: red face and eyes, bitter taste, dizziness, tinnitus, insomnia. Severe nervousness, anger, irritability, photophobia.
  • Red tongue, thin coating or no coating.
  • Rapid and tense pulse.


Treatment

Subdue Liver Yang. If applicable, nourish Liver-Yin and/or Kidney-Yin.
