Heat
- Is Yang.
- Raises temperature. Fever.
- Accelerates metabolism.
- Consumes fluids: abundant sweat, scant urine of strong color and odor, thirst, constipation.
- Ascends and disperses energy: red and hot face, sweat on the head, agitation of the Shen, talks a lot, insomnia, nervousness.
- Typical of summer, Fire element.
- Heat can penetrate the four layers.
- Sometimes accompanied by dampness.
- As heat consumes fluids and condenses, it produces Phlegm.
- Reddens, inflames, Heat Bi.

Fire
Is heat taken to the extreme. Intensifies all the above symptoms.
- Fire accelerates circulation so much that blood exits the blood vessels, causing hemorrhages, epistaxis, bruises, metrorrhagia. Bleeding is what the body does to try to eliminate that excessive heat.
- Ulcers, sores, boils.
- Skin infections, redness of the skin, itching.
Long-term exposure to heat consumes fluids and weakens Yin. When Yin cannot control Yang, Yang ascends and violently erupts outward. See for example:
Treatment
- One of the fastest ways to eliminate fire is through bleeding. micro-bleeding, cupping with bleeding. Points like GV-14 or the ear apex are points that are usually bled to eliminate heat at a global level.
- The Ying-Spring points have specific action to eliminate heat.
