- High fever
- Convulsions
- Mental confusion
- Agitation and nervousness
- Nasal flaring
- Neck rigidity
- Tremor of the limbs
- Eye rolling
- Trismus (during convulsive episodes) teeth clenching
- Dark red tongue
- Tight and rapid pulse
