Shi Lin Syndrome

The damp-heat that remains a long time in the body concentrates and transforms into stones or sand.

Symptoms

  • Renal colic: movement pains, pain in the lower abdomen and may radiate to the lumbar region. There may be many neuro-vegetative symptoms (vomiting, nausea, sweating, extreme pallor, ...)
  • Dysuria: urine with burning sensation, stabbing pain, urination that stops due to obstruction, hematuria (blood in urine)
  • Tongue with seborrheic coating, or seborrheic and yellow
  • Tight and rapid pulse (with rapid pain)

These patients mainly go to emergency at the hospital.


Treatment

General for all Lin syndromes: Restore Qi Ji of the Bladder.

  • BL-22 ( TE: water passages)
  • BL-28 (Shu of BL)
  • BL-39 (He lower of TE)
  • Global: CV-3 (Mu) and LR-2 (if there is pain on urination)
  • KI-3, biao li, to help the bladder through KI

In case of renal colic

First auricular therapy: sometimes works better to calm the colic. Prick bilaterally:

If the ultrasound says there are very large stones, better to go to the hospital to receive ultrasound therapy. In this case mobilizing the calculi would create more pain.
