Every two hours the Nutritive Qi (Rong Qi) is circulating through an organ and channel. For this reason there are diseases that worsen or show symptoms at specific hours. This is called the organ clock.

- 11 A.M.–1 P.M.: Heart.
- 1-3 P.M.: Small Intestine.
- 3-5 P.M.: Bladder.
- 5-7 P.M.: Kidney.
- 7-9 P.M.: Pericardium.
- 9-11 P.M.: Triple Burner.
- 11 P.M.–1 A.M.: Gall Bladder.
- 1-3 A.M.: Liver.
The cycle restarts again at 3 A.M. with Lung.
Polars
Like a tide that rises and falls throughout the twenty-four hours of the day, a channel is at its maximum energy during those two hours of the day, and at its minimum twelve hours later. This causes polarity relationships to be established: when one organ is at its energy maximum, another is at its minimum.
- Lung and Bladder.
- Large Intestine and Kidney.
- Stomach and Pericardium.
- Spleen and Triple Burner.
- Heart and Gall Bladder.
- Small Intestine and Liver.
