Pathway
It begins at the little toe and runs along the lateral border of the foot to below the lateral malleolus, three branches emerge:
- 1st branch: goes to attach to the external surface of the calcaneus and disperses over the heel.
- 2nd branch: ascends along the lateral surface of the leg and attaches to the head of the fibula. Point GB-34 connects with the Stomach Muscle channel and the Gall Bladder Muscle channel
- 3rd branch: joins with the Achilles tendon, ascends along the tendon and attaches to the base of the gastrocnemius (BL-57). It projects into the calf muscles and attaches to both sides of the popliteal fossa. Ascends along the posterior muscles of the thigh and attaches to the center of the gluteal fold (BL-36). It projects over the entire gluteal region and then ascends along the entire back musculature between the two pathways of the Bladder main channel. At the level of the scapula, two pathways emerge:
- 1st: It traverses the scapula and reaches the shoulder to the area of LI-15
- 2nd: It surrounds the entire lower base of the scapula, traverses the axilla and surrounds the anterior part of the shoulder until it reaches the supraclavicular fossa where it generates two new branches:
- One goes toward the mastoid process GB-12.
- Another ascends along the cheek to SI-18, the meeting point of the yang sinews of the leg.
The main branch of the back proceeds until it reaches the nape of the neck and attaches to BL-10, where it divides again:
- One branch connects with GB-20 and penetrates to the base of the tongue.
From BL-10 the channel continues along the main channel until it reaches the inner canthus of the eye (BL-1) and a branch emerges that distributes to the upper eyelid (connecting with the Stomach Muscle channel), penetrates inside the orbit and connects with the upper palate.
- From the inner canthus of the eye a small branch descends along the nose, goes to the zygomatic arch and reaches SI-18.

- Ankle disorders
- Disorder of the posterior part of the leg
- Pain around the shoulder, in the shape of the "backpack strap"
