Gao Lin Syndrome

Gao Lin Syndrome refers to a kidney deficiency.

Possible causes:

  • Anti-inflammatory (e.g., ibuprofen) for a long time
  • Diabetes

Symptoms

  • May have blood threads in the urine
  • Proteinuria

There are two possible sub-syndromes:

Kidney-Qi not firm

Due to Kidney-Qi deficiency. Does not control the essence of the body that is lost (excess protein in the urine).

  • Chronic illnesses, type 2 diabetes (with obesity), old age...
  • Pale tongue and deep, weak pulse

Damp-Heat in the Lower Burner

  • Pain and burning in the urethra when urinating, thirst
  • Red tongue with seborrheic coating and rapid pulse

Treatment

General for all Lin syndromes: Restore the Qi Ji of the Bladder.

  • BL-22 (TR: water passages)
  • BL-28 (Bladder Back-Shu point)
  • BL-39 (lower He point of TR)
  • Overall: CV-3 (Mu point) and LR-2 (if there is pain when urinating)
  • KI-3, biao li, to help the Bladder through the Kidneys
