Pathway

TR

External pathway

It is born at the ulnar nail angle of the ring finger at TE-1. It ascends between the fourth and fifth metacarpals. It reaches the wrist crease on the ulnar side of the finger extensor tendon (TE-4). It follows the yang surface of the forearm, passing between the ulna and the radius. It reaches the elbow passing through the tip of the olecranon. It follows the external surface of the arm through the center. It reaches the posterior surface of the shoulder, continues through the trapezius muscle, crossing with SI-12 and reaches the spine at GV-14. From there it passes through GB-21 and goes to the supraclavicular hollow (ST-12), where a branch interiorizes. The external pathway continues along the lateral surface of the neck, behind the sternocleidomastoid, passes behind the ear and reaches the temple. It descends towards the lower jaw, rises again to the lower orbital border and terminates at the lateral end of the eyebrow TE-23.

Internal pathway

Trayecto interno principal TR

From the supraclavicular hollow (ST-12) it penetrates the thorax to establish Biao-li with Pericardium at CV-17, it crosses the diaphragm, connects the three burners and descends through the leg to BL-39, its lower He-Sea point.

  • From the base of the ear (TE-17) a branch penetrates the interior of the ear and exits in front of the tragus, reaches the outer corner of the eye where it communicates with the GB meridian (GB-1).
